What is a web application?
A web application (web app) is a program or portal that can be accessed by any web browser. Web applications can be designed for different purposes and can be used by companies or single individuals for various reasons. An example of web applications are webmails, ecommerce shops and CRM systems. Some of the web applications can only be used by a browser but most of them can be accessed without a browser.
Since web applications are accessed through a network, they don’t need to be downloaded. Web apps can be usually accessed through multiple web browsers such as Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
What are the benefits of using a web application?
- Multiple users have access to the same version of the application.
