We introduced our AI a couple of years ago. We call him Marvin.

In that time, we have made some improvements, and the ball keeps on rolling: One of the recent additions is to ask Marvin to summarise the content of a page for insertion as the meta description. That means that you don’t have to work quite so hard to do it. Looking at a blog I wrote a couple of years ago I asked it to do just that “AI aids content creation by writing, improving, translating, and fact-checking, but human input is vital for originality and quality.” – yeah, that summarises it well.

What is the future of AI in content management systems? Well, let’s ask Marvin! See his blog post.

What do I think of what was written?

Smarter Content Creation

Being able to create a blog post on a new product would be great. It is rather time consuming and writer's block seems to happen frequently. This will allow your website to easily have fresh content and varying content. This, in turn, will improve engagement and sales.

Personalisation at Scale

I like this idea.. We have a few different authors on our blogs posts and you can probably tell. What Marvin can do is rewrite content in "my style" (although I am not sure I want AI impersonating me) or a "house style" (which would make a website consistent). Or if you want, Marvin can impersonate a certain well known mouse in his content creation. That could be quite fun and would make your website enjoyable to look at. If you were selling used cars then each advert (as well as the make, model, etc) could have some unique sales pitch included.

Enhanced Content Optimisation

Marvin can easily suggest ways to make content better for SEO. Marvin already knows about current keywords and search trends and can apply them to your content. This will help drive traffic to your website and, hopefully, you will see that in increased engagement and sales.

Automated Workflows and Content Management

We are looking at getting Marvin to write and publish blogs automatically. It might be that you have a new and exciting product. Marvin could write a blog post every month to promote it. Just as easily, you might want to get Marvin to post about your opening hours every year so people can find that information quickly.

Advanced Multimedia Handling

Marvin will know what a picture is just by looking at it. How many times has SEO been punished for no alt tags on images? Marvin could fill those in for you. Marvin could even generate an image for you - for example, a highly complex machine with only two buttons: Start and Stop. Marvin could just generate a banner image based on the content... saves trawling through stock images.

Conclusion

We are looking at a number of different ways that Marvin can help us and help you to make your website a better place. If you've got an idea, let us know by contacting us!
